Sri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate Public School, Sec 26, Chandigarh celebrated the 77th Independence day, which is themed as the 77th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav with great enthusiasm on 15th August 2023. The Principal of SGGS College and SGGS Pharmacy College were also present along with their Coordinators, Staff and the students.The school campus was beautifully decorated with flags and balloons to commemorate the day. All the students teachers, non-teaching staff of school and colleges gathered in the school premises at 8.15 a.m. The programme started at 8.30 a.m followed by a prayer. The Principal of the School welcomed all the members present for the function. After that our Principal hoisted the Flag along with the other Principals of the college run under the Sikh Educational Society . The students of school and colleges sang Patriotic songs and National Anthem together.

Principals of these institutions gave 3 inspiring speeches and motivated the students to Excel and shine the future of country India.

A cultural programme was also organised in the school where students of  school and colleges participated in full swings. Some students performed a patriotic song, some performed a patriotic dance, and some were dressed up as freedom fighters. Different drawing activities were organised for the students on 11th August 2023 and also tree plantation was done by the students of the school.The vote of thanks was given by the Principal of the School. Sweets and Refreshments were distributed among all the students and Staff. The programme ended by 10.30 a.m.
